I still find it funny how parts of Rey’s story and character were given as hand-me-downs to KatKen’s other self-inserts when Rian cast them aside:

Father-daughter relationship at the heart of the film? Take that from Luke and Rey and give it to Galen and Jyn.

A little girl being separated from her family after watching her mom get murdered by the enemy? Not Rey’s anymore, it’s Jyn’s.

Rey originally being named Kira? Suddenly Han Solo’s first love is named Qi’ra - now spelled stupidly to make it seem new.

Ofc this is speculation on my part since we never get any “real” confirmation but… it’s so obvious it’s sad.
